The Go-Getter Who Got It

It’s time to hit the books because CK’s very own, Sophie Marvell just recently published her own book, The Girl Under Water. It’s a heartwarming tale about a typical girl trying to live a normal life with a touch of mystery, as well as an exciting supernatural twist- it’s definitely a worthy read.

The Girl Under Water was just an idea that occurred to me and the more I wrote on it, the more clear that it became that it wasn’t just an idea,” says Sophie.

Despite all the support this young author received from her friends, family, and fans, there was a select few that thought her goals were unrealistic and weren’t achievable. “I had people say that my ideas were stupid but in my opinion you aren’t a writer without a little bit of criticism.”

Sophie’s talent for writing could certainly get her places in the future but this girl has a different path set for herself. With her choice career as a journalist or editor for a publishing company, she would prefer to write novels on the side. Thanks to her current past-time of writing on CKSN, she might even be a step closer to her dream.

“I hope the more I write, the more of a chance I have of being in a successful writing career.” Sophie Marvell took action and followed through to accomplish what most people at her age only dream of. It is obvious that impact she will have on her community will inspire so many others to do what Sophie had the guts to carry out. She is a perfect example of showing that age shouldn’t limit you.
